ABOUT US
The History of The Nittany Antique Machinery Association, Inc.
Nittany Antique Machinery Association was formed in 1975 when Dick Markle and Russell Mark, both avid antique equipment collectors and show attendees, decided that Central Pennsylvania had enough interest and equipment to organize a club and hold a show of its own.
The first show was held at Penns Cave farm in September 1975. The attendance and enthusiasm was beyond expectations. Several operating steam traction engines, numerous farm tractors and implements were displayed. There were demonstrations of threshing grain, baling straw, broom-making, and ice cream making.
With the success of the first show it was decided to hold a show annually, the first weekend after Labor Day. In addition to the fall show, a spring "gas-up" is now held with a consignment sale the Saturday following Memorial Day.
Our show has grown to be one of the largest East of the Mississippi and many improvements have been made to the show grounds, including a museum, library and large flea market. The shows are held the same time each year, the first weekend after Memorial Day and the first weekend after Labor Day.
Exhibitors of tractors, implements, hit-miss type engines welcome. Exhibitors receive free admission and a show plaque.
